Position Description
The ModCentre Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring the ModCentre 293 machining system to cut and process junction box. This role requires accurately reading and interpreting engineering drawings, ensuring parts meet dimensional tolerances and quality standards, performing routine inspections, and consistently following workplace safety policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
• Set up, operate, and adjust the ModCentre 293 and other equipment to cut junction boxes according to work instructions and production schedules
• Load raw material, position parts correctly, and safely unload finished junction box components
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and job travelers to ensure dimensional accuracy and cut requirements are met
• Perform in process and final inspections to verify parts meet quality standards and print specifications
• Measure parts using calipers, gauges, and other measuring tools to confirm tolerances
• Monitor machine performance, make minor adjustments, and report equipment issues or malfunctions to supervision or maintenance
• Identify defects, incorrect cuts, or non conforming material and communicate issues promptly
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with company and regulatory safety standards
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality requirements, and safety protocols at all times
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, and productivity
Required Education & Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Post secondary education or technical training in manufacturing or machining is an asset
• Previous experience operating ModCentre systems, CNC cutting machines, or similar equipment preferred
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
• Understanding of dimensional tolerances and quality requirements
• Proficiency using measuring instruments such as calipers and gauges
• Knowledge of safe machine operation and workplace safety practices
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to identify equipment or process issues
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet production deadlines
