Position Description
The Lean Technician drives continuous improvement on the assembly line by supporting Standard Work, improving Takt Time performance, and implementing mistake‑proofing solutions. This role leads kaizen activities, enhances workflow efficiency, and partners with production teams to sustain lean practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Improve assembly line performance using Lean principles (Flow, Takt, Waste Elimination, Standard Work).
- Lead Kaizen events, including video/time studies and 5S workshops.
- Develop and implement simple mistake‑proofing tools (go/no‑go gauges, visual aids, etc.).
- Support 5S: labeling, workplace organization, documentation, and audits.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Quality on process improvements.
- Interpret technical drawings and assist with basic tooling/layout sketches.
- Update and maintain CI/production metrics.
Required Education & Qualifications
- Postsecondary technical education or relevant manufacturing experience.
- 3–5 years in a production/manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of Lean/Kaizen and ability to lead improvement events.
- Ability to read drawings and use basic measuring tools.
- Proficiency with standard computer tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); AutoCAD experience preferred.
- Strong communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
