Position Description

The Junction Box - Lead Hand is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the junction box production area, ensuring efficient workflow, high-quality output, and adherence to safety standards. This role supervises up to 30 team members, coordinates cross-functional support, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to meet production targets and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervising and supporting up to 30 team members within the Junction Box production area.
  • Attending and actively participating in scheduled meetings (daily/weekly) to review production, quality, and safety performance.
  • Collaborating with Production Support and Engineering teams for technical guidance, including drawings, wiring layouts, and assembly processes.
  • Conducting periodic cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory levels of components and materials.
  • Coordinating material requests with the Purchasing department to ensure uninterrupted workflow and timely availability of parts.
  • Overseeing assembly and inspection processes to ensure all junction boxes meet required quality standards and specifications.
  • Partnering with the Quality team to address non-conformances, raise reports for defective/damaged components, and drive corrective actions.
  • Supporting resolution of production issues and ensuring quality alerts and updates are communicated effectively to team members.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize workflows within the junction box area.
  • Planning and executing daily production schedules based on required output and assembly demands.
  • Developing, updating, and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for junction box assembly and related processes.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical specifications to guide production.
  • Ensuring strict adherence to safety policies and procedures, including facilitating toolbox talks and escalating concerns to the Safety team.
  • Demonstrating flexibility by adapting to changing priorities and production requirements while maintaining quality and deadlines.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional departments to ensure smooth project execution and strengthen operational alignment.
  • Providing input into employee performance evaluations, coaching, and development.
  • Maintaining 5S standards and overall organization within the production floor.
