Position Description
A Shipping/Crane Operator is responsible to safely control cranes to load/unload cargo, equipment, and materials focusing on efficient movement, pre-operation checks, maintenance, rigging, and strict adherence to safety protocols while communicating with ground crews, often requiring specific certification and experience for tasks.
Key Responsibilities
As a Shipping/Crane Operator, you will be accountable to:
• Manage and do minor verification of the receipt or packing slips of all products, materials, and supplies
• Oversees loading and unloading of goods
• Compliance with health and safety
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Forklift operator experience (preferred)
• Overhead crane experience (preferred)
• Computer skills / Microsoft Office
• Previous experience in manufacturing environment is an asset.
Ideal candidate must have:
· At least 2-3 years Shipping/Receiving experience
· Attention to detail, ability to work independently and under pressure to meet tight deadlines
· Physically capable of performing all work-related task and assignments.
· Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy
· Must have forklift experience
· Ability to contribute to the teamwork of the department
