Position Description
General Laborer with Forklift - Shipping & Receiving
A Shipping and Receiving Forklift Operator will be responsible in handling the shipping and receiving. This role involves receiving, inspecting, and documenting incoming shipments, preparing outgoing shipments, and maintaining inventory records.
Morning shift, 6:00am – 2:30pm, Monday -Friday
Obtains shipping order, and pulls necessary parts/units to fill order (using Forklift). Inspects all shipments before shipping. Receives all incoming goods and follows specified checking and inspection procedures. Processes all paper work associated with shipping and receiving. Removes finished units from assembly areas and stores in warehouse. Arranges warehouse for stock rotation and maximum utilization of area. Receives and stores raw material and in-process parts. Carries out special material handling assignments. Responsible for daily maintenance checks on powered trucks. Reports damage to supervisor. Responsible for keeping aisles clear. Responsible for keeping work area clean, safe, and orderly. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor and area coordinator.
Required Education & Qualifications
· 3+ years working experience in the Shipping & Receiving roles.
· Good organizational and time management skills.
· Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy.
· Must have an active certificate (not in-house) to operate a Forklift.
· Must be legal to work in Canada
· Must be able to lift up to 50lbs materials
· Basic computer skills/ Microsoft Office
