Position Description

As a Cleaner, your job duties include sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors, dusting surfaces, cleaning and sanitizing restrooms and lunch room and offices, emptying trash and recycling, replenishing supplies, and following safety protocols. Key responsibilities also involve reporting maintenance issues, using specialized equipment safely, adhering to cleaning schedules, and maintaining clean and tidy work areas.

 

Afternoon shift, 3:00pm – 11:30pm, Monday -Friday

 

Common Job Duties

 

  •  Floor Maintenance: Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and potentially waxing and polishing different types of floors.
  •  Surface Cleaning: Dusting furniture, shelves, countertops, and fixtures to keep them clean and tidy.
  •  Restroom Sanitation: Cleaning and disinfecting sinks, toilets, showers, and countertops, as well as replenishing soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
  •  Lunch Room Maintenance: Cleaning appliances, countertops, sinks, and floors in the areas.
  •  Waste Disposal: Emptying trash and recycling bins and replacing liners to control waste and maintain cleanliness.
  •  Supply Management: Monitoring cleaning supplies and restocking them in designated areas.
  •  Specialized Cleaning: May include cleaning windows, mirrors, walls, or upholstered furniture depending on the environment.

Key Responsibilities

  •  Following Schedules: Adhering to cleaning schedules to ensure all designated areas are cleaned in a timely manner.
  •  Safety Compliance: Following all health and safety regulations and procedures when using cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  •  Maintenance Reporting: Notifying management or supervisors of any damage, needed repairs, or other deficiencies in the facility.
  •  Equipment Operation: Safely operating and maintaining specialized cleaning equipment.
  •  Communication: Communicating effectively with staff and supervisors regarding tasks, issues, and supply needs.
  •  Work Area Upkeep: Ensuring designated facilities are clean, neat, and orderly.
