Position Description
The Continuous Improvement (CI) Coordinator supports plant operations by driving lean initiatives, problem solving, and standardization across manufacturing processes.
This role facilitates Kaizen events, sustains 5S and visual management, analyzes production data, and partners with Safety, Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain to eliminate waste, reduce variation, and improve flow—while maintaining compliance with EHS and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and sustain 5S, visual management in all manufacturing departments.
- Coach supervisors and operators on lean fundamentals; lead train-the-trainer for 5S, problem solving, and visual management.
- Develop and maintain Tier Boards.
- Recognize and share wins; maintain CI idea funnels and help teams pilot small improvements safely.
- Support time studies for Dahu, Tahu and develop standard framework for cycle times calculations.
- Improve Kanban/replenishment systems, supermarket design, and point-of-use inventory.
- Develop digital solutions for manufacturing (e.g. Digital reporting system for 5S, digital tier boards).
- Any additional CI support that will be required
Required Education & Qualifications
- Technical background or equivalent experience.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Solid communication and collaboration abilities.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Basic understanding of Lean/Six Sigma principles.
- Detail‑oriented and eager to learn CI methodologies.
- Lean or Six Sigma certification (e.g., Green Belt) an asset.
- Experience supporting process mapping or data analysis an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft office package tools including Power Apps and Power Bi.
