Position Description
Set up and operate automated manufacturing cell, which requires a thorough understanding and knowledge of all the machines and processes within a manufacturing cell. Must know, understand, and be able to adapt or adjust the programming of the computer-aided equipment which includes interfacing with various computer software programs in several configurations. Use good judgment to be able to determine probable cause and remedy to machine or process malfunctions as they arise. Includes responsibility for choosing proper material type and gauge. Employee will perform routine maintenance including, but not limited to, turret cleaning, slug removal, tool lubrication, inspection for sharpness, wipe down of table, alignment of various components, etc. In addition, performs first piece inspections and makes tool changes as required.
Must use appropriate safety devices and possess a thorough knowledge of blueprints and sophisticated measuring devices. Inventories spare parts and tooling. Works closely with Manufacturing Engineering Department to communicate, verify, and correct programming problems. May direct others working in cell and establish scheduling priorities. Interfacing with Supervisor as well as Production Control Department will be required to maintain smooth and timely parts manufacture. Performs other duties as required.
2nd shift position, will train on 1st shift before moving to 2nd shift.

• Reports improper equipment operation and defective materials to Supervisor.
• Records time and production.
• Works eight-hour shift concurrently with other plant operations. Periodic daily and weekend overtime as production schedules demand.
• May be assigned task of training new/transferred employees as required.
• Be able to read all production schedules for lines and various departments.
• Other essential functions as may be assigned.
