Position Description

Performs electrical maintenance repair work on a wide variety of sophisticated production machinery and ancillary equipment throughout the entire facility. This includes the ability to troubleshoot and repair all electro-mechanical and solid-state machine control devices. Works with electrical prints, schematics, etc., which includes reading, adding to, and deleting to record any modifications to circuits as required. Ensures that all electrical work conforms with the National Electric Code and plant safety rules. Uses safety lockout procedure when performing electrical work. Installs new equipment and performs mechanical work as necessary. Works from written work orders or from Supervisors directives. Works closely with other maintenance mechanics. Reports improper equipment operation to Supervisor. Due to the changing nature of maintenance work, must be able to complete any workshops, seminars, etc. as deemed necessary. Records time and production and performs other duties as required.

Key Responsibilities

1. Performs electrical maintenance repair work on a wide variety of sophisticated production machinery and ancillary equipment, which includes the ability to troubleshoot and repair all electro-mechanical and solid-state machine control devices.
2. Works from electrical prints, schematics, etc., which includes reading, adding to, and deleting to record any modifications to circuits as required.
3. Ensures that all electrical work conforms with the National Electric Code and plant safety requirements.
4. Uses safety lockout procedure when performing electrical maintenance work.
5. Installs new equipment and performs mechanical work as required.
6. Works from written work orders or from Supervisor’s directives.
7. Uses variety of tools including powered industrial trucks and manual hand trucks, overhead hoists, and welding equipment.
8. Works closely with other maintenance mechanics.
9. Reports improper equipment operation to Supervisor.
10. Records time and production.
11. Works eight-hour shift concurrently with other plant operations. Periodic daily and weekend overtime as production schedules demand.
12. May be assigned task of training new/transferred employees as required.
13. Other essential functions as may be assigned.

Required Education & Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent.

Requires reading, writing, adding, subtracting, thorough electrical training, ability to operate powered industrial trucks and manual hand trucks, ability to operate welding equipment, ability to read prints, schematics, etc., and following of instructions. Must be able to successfully master all elements of training control document for this job.
