Position Description
Team Lead reports to the Production Supervisor, managing labor and equipment to safely produce goods
per engineering provided specifications using engineering approved processes.
Team lead is responsible for daily management of their assigned process; addressing obstacles to ensure
the team can safely produce goods on time, at cost targets, and within stated limits for product quality.
Key Responsibilities
· Practice the key leadership behaviors of selflessness, accountability, integrity, development, and
communication. Work with management to refine the behaviors, and model them every day for your
team.
· Know and act according to our policies & procedures. Expect the same from your team, and
promptly escalate to your supervisor any personnel issues which may require coaching/discipline.
· Assist in developing safety culture of the department, including but not limited to: executing safety
initiatives, ensuring proper usage of PPE, addressing safety concerns and suggestions, conducting
monthly safety inspections, participating in Behavior Based Safety (BBS) Observations, and assist in
completing accident investigation reports (when needed).
· Analyzes production schedules & makes plans to meet customer demand.
· Participation in Kaizen events to support improvement ideas.
· Use standard work to accomplish daily, weekly, monthly goals.
· Assist Production Supervisor in developing training assignments and needs.
· Reports daily on key performance indicators for the department (safety, quality, cost, and delivery),
identifying obstacles.
· Use ERP system (SAP) to maintain accurate inventory for all materials used in the department which
could include scrap, material substitutions, production recording, etc.
· Ensure processes are executed per engineering and quality standards utilizing LPA process to monitor
performance.
· Clear consistent communication to employees including daily kick off meetings.
· Continually assessing the need for small tools, protective clothing, equipment and other items
necessary for production and safety.
· Maintains a clean and orderly department using 5S process.
· Ensures materials are ordered per WMS for daily production requirements
Required Education & Qualifications
High School diploma or GED is required. Prior leadership experience preferred. Computer skills and
proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word preferred.
