Position Description
In this position you will work with our Advanced Manufacturing team on a variety of exciting projects. This paid position is located at our global headquarters in Racine, Wisconsin. The typical assignment spans 2 to 3 semesters. The individual in this position is responsible for supporting manufacturing process development activities related to Industry 4.0 / IIoT. The incumbent will also support existing process improvement activities and new product launch activities.
Key Responsibilities
Support Advanced Manufacturing Engineers with:
- Process Development
- Conduct process and part experiments, trials, or testing
- Specification creation/modification
- Enhance engineering tools and processes to make the engineering functions more efficient.
- Product Launch
- Tooling and equipment acquisition
- Design for manufacturability
- APQP process documentation
- Support proof of concept projects to integrate new IIoT/Industry 4.0 manufacturing technologies into Modine plants
- Perform hands-on tasks for assisting in producing equipment/tooling
Required Education & Qualifications
Education Requirements:
- Sophomore standing in engineering degree program
Position Requirements:
- Basic solid modeling and drawing skill-set (SolidEdge, ProE, UG, or Catia CAD software).
- Proven troubleshooting, mechanical, and analytical skills
- Customer-focused attitude
- Dedicated to quality and safety
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team environment while taking ownership of projects
