Scott Springfield by Modine is looking for an Accounting Intern for a 3–4-month term position.
This role will be based at our 2234 Portland St SE location in Calgary Alberta.
We are looking for team players who are curious enough to ask questions and explore new ideas, passionate enough to serve our customers, and ready to take ownership of challenges and grow with us. We are a team, first and foremost, and we take pride in our collaborative efforts! The Accounts Payable intern will support the accounts payable team with invoice processing, payment verification, and financial documentation. This role provides hands on experience in financial operations and account processes. The ideal candidate is detail oriented and motivated in pursuing a career in accounting or finance.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and maintaining Accounts Payable (A/P) electronic files and folder structures and archiving for audit readiness.
- Reviewing and redacting information in financial documents (including invoices, etc.) and comparing them with the supporting documents.
- Participating in meetings, trainings and job shadowing opportunities.
- Reviewing, investigating and correcting discrepancies and irregularities in financial entries.
- Assisting with documentation of evidence required for compliance with the internal controls.
- Drafting of internal policies and procedures.
- Other related ad-hoc duties.
Required Education & Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in, or new graduates of a Bachelors or Associate’s program in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office applications.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills are necessary.
- Prior internship or coursework in Accounting or Finance is a plus.
