Position Description

 

The Clerk II is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate procurement and scheduling of both accessorial materials and finished goods. This role involves coordinating with suppliers, managing inventory levels, and working closely with cross-functional teams to optimize material flow and minimize shortages for both raw materials and finished goods.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Monitor material requirements and place purchase orders to meet production schedule created by clerk.
  • Monitor incoming service and accessorial orders, scheduling accordingly to meet customer demand with minimal negative effect on past due or on-time delivery.
  • Work closely with production, warehouse, and procurement teams to ensure availability of material and completion of schedules.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks related to material shortages or excess inventory. 
  • Update and maintain accurate records in the ERP/MRP system. 
  • Serve as back up for Commodity Buyer and other Production Control functions.

 

Required Education & Qualifications

 

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of experience in material planning, supply chain, or logistics.
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office. 
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. 
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
